About Us - a brief Overview
This development was completed in the year 2000 on the site of the former Royal Mail sorting office. Although the development comprises 8 blocks with different names, we are widely known as “Berwick Court Development”
The historic significance of the site adds to the charm and character of the ‘Berwick Court development’. The architecture of the 8 blocks, each with its unique name, reflects a harmonious blend of modern design and historical legacy. As a result, the development stands as a testament to the seamless integration of contemporary urban living with the rich tapestry of the past.

Southwark, and The Borough in particular, is full of history, from the Roman settlements, to Chaucer, Shakespeare and Dickens, as well as John Harvard (founder of Harvard University) – all who have links to this area.

The Borough and Bankside area of London is a vibrant part of London, with plenty of bars and restaurants covering a multitude of different cuisines. There are also art galleries, including Tate Modern and the White Cube; theatres, including Shakespeare’s Globe, The National Theatre and Southwark Playhouse; concert halls, including The Royal Festival Hall.
We have two of the largest teaching hospitals in London on our doorstep too: Guy’s near London Bridge and St Thomas’s near Waterloo and Westminster stations.
With great transport links into the City of London and the West End, this really is a wonderful location.

Did you know?? The Berkeley Barometer
Even people who have lived round here for a while, don’t know what the big square bit is on top of the 22-storey Tabard Tower just over the road from us.
The glowing beacon changes colour depending on the barometric pressure. The glass box contains colour-changing LEDs which are controlled by a digital barometric pressure sensor.
The main body of the beacon will be lit 24 hours a day, with the beacon at its brightest at sunset. To reduce light pollution, the light intensity will get lower throughout the night.
